Job Description

Brief Description

This position is responsible to support the global liner procurement team in (a) managing and ensuring process compliance of company guidelines; (b) data generation/mining/reporting and (c) system and procurement tools.

Key Result Areas

  • Supporting procurement team with data-mining and provide accurate, integral and consistent data.
  • Delivering reports timely and accurately.
  • Monitoring and tracking cost savings/procurement activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement principles, processes and tools.
  • Contract management for global vendors

Key Accountabilities/Duties

  • Generate and putting together data from APL operating and financial systems
  • Responsible for administrating data and delivering financial, operational and managerial reports, meeting all deliverables timely and accurately.
  • Supporting team in procurement system and tools, i.e. e-procurement and portal.
  • Identifying, investigating and resolving data corruption, discrepancy and other issues in procurement system.
  • Generating business intelligence data, e.g. market price, manufacturer information and supplier profiles.
  • Accountable to manage cost savings and procurement initiatives: working closely with regional procurement team and front line offices to track result and obtain variance analysis.
  • Monitoring and ensuring procurement activities/accounts mapping across organization.
  • Managing contracts, i.e. signed, mailing, document, index, scan and update to system. This includes external and internal documents (such as approval papers) in compliance to POM requirements.
Job Requirements

Incumbent specification


  • Tertiary education
  • At least 1.5 – 2 years experience in procurement or finance department of shipping industry.
  • Meticulous with figures, strong interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude in financial and quantitative analysis
  • Computer literate & competent in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of in-house systems. E.g. Equipment Tracking & Control, Equipment Asset Management, EMMS, ACE, CBART, Walker, SAP, GQL

Nice to have

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Experience in data analytics and business intelligence

Salary: RM4,500.00 /month
