Job Descriptions

What Are The Role’s Main Responsibilities?

You’ll undertake tasks such as filing, typing, basic bookkeeping, handling mail and making phone calls. Other typical duties include:

  • Management of petty cash transactions;
  • Controlling credit and ensuring debtors pay on time;
  • Reconciliation of direct debits and finance accounts;
  • Ensuring all payments amounts & records are accurate;
  • Preparation of statutory accounts;
  • Working with journals, sales & purchase ledgers and spreadsheets.

Once you gain some experience, you may be given more complex tasks such as:

  • Planning and budget control;
  • Assisting qualified Accountants with audits;
  • Preparation of financial reports.


Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

Accounts assistants are required to have a logical mind and an ability to work well with numbers. Other skills needed for the job include: -

  • Diploma in Accounting or Bachelor of Accounting;
  • Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills a must;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines;
  • Experience using Excel and other accounting software;
  • Bookkeeping experience;
  • Ability to complete tasks while maintaining all confidentiality requirements;
  • Possess own laptop.
