‘Sonder’; a theme based All-day breakfast dine-in concept. Healthy all–day breakfast includes cereals, salad bar, fruits, fruit juice, wraps and ice-cream desserts. The dine-in cafe integrates a weekly changing theme based on demand and feedback to cater for a healthy mental state of students. Along with nutrition-rich foods, our objective is to increase an overall physical and emotional well-being of the students and thus boosting their productivity. Kitchen Assistants

Job Descriptions

-Prepare a variety of food items for cooking.
-Retrieve food items from the fridge or freezer.
-Wash, peel, and/or cut food items, including fruits, vegetables, or certain types of meats.
-Mix ingredients for salads.
-Portion or wrap food items or dishes.
-Store food in containers and in the fridge or freezer.
-Weigh or measure ingredients (e.g., flour, salt, sugar, oil).
-Re-fill kitchen condiment bottles and shakers.
-Stack and store food supplies, equipment, or other utensils in the kitchen.
-Wipe down kitchen surfaces using proper sanitizers.
-Clean any used kitchenware (e.g., knives) or dishes.
-Mop or sweep the kitchen floor, and collecting dirt and debris in a dustpan.
-Empty out the dustpan in the garbage or squeeze out the mop into a bucket.
-Take out trash bags from kitchen.
-You may also be asked to carry out additional duties than those listed here.

To assist in the preparation of food

To assist in the serving of meals to clients, staff and others and the setting and clearing of tables.

To assist in the preparation and serving of beverages to staff, clients and others

To wash and dry kitchen pots/utensils and ensure their proper storage.

To clean the kitchen area (floors, cookers etc).

To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed. To report any problems to the Cook in Charge or responsible Senior Officer.

Assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries

Attending training courses as appropriate.

The post holder is part of a team whose aim is to promote the general well being of service users and may be required to work with the client in the kitchen as appropriate

To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job

Job Requirements

Skills / Abilities
Oral Comprehension – Demonstrated ability to follow verbal instructions and ideas.

Manual Dexterity – This job requires the repeated and coordinated use of your arms, hands, wrists, and fingers to use kitchen utensils (e.g., knives, spatulas) for chopping food items.
